GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are actively seeking a self-motivated Civil Engineer with strong technical knowledge. The Project Engineer will work integrally and collaboratively with a team of engineers in designing and producing a variety of bridge and structural projects under the direct supervision of the Principal.
The job location is in Houston, TX.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to accomplish task assignments related to schematic and PS&E bridge design for a variety of transportation projects, with a focus on TxDOT, GDOT, and VDOT work.
  • Use LEAP Concrete, LEAP Steel, PG Super, MDX, BGS, and TxDOT bridge design programs to design bridge elements. Use MicroStation, GEOPAK, and Inroads. Capability to use OpenRoads and OpenBridge Modeler software to develop designs for transportation projects.
  • Produce 3D geometric designs for horizontal & vertical geometry for bridges, culverts, retaining walls and embankments, and cutting cross sections and detail sheets.
  • Assist members of the project design team with engineering programs, design tasks, and tools.
  • Initiative to implement improvement of project quality and technical capabilities.
  • Preparation, modification, and submission of bridge drawings, layouts, and other visual aids, following project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Calculate plan quantities, costs of materials, and estimates.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Structural or transportation emphasis is required. A Master’s degree in Science is a plus.
  • More than Five years of industry experience in Bridge/Roadway engineering.
  • Experience in the design of DOT’s bridge and structural projects. Roadway design experience is a plus.

REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION, OR LICENSURE

  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or have the ability to obtain the license within a year of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Familiarity with DOT and local rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD. Ability to use DOT’s Bridge Design and Detailing Manuals and follow DOT’s Policy.
  • Skilled in the use of computer-aided design techniques including the following software applications: Bentley MicroStation, GeoPak, LEAP Steel, LEAP Concrete, PG Super, Bluebeam, Adobe. Familiarity with OpenRoads, OpenBridge Modeler, MDX, MIDAS, RM Bridge, and LARS Bridge is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Passion for all types of bridge engineering.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are actively seeking a candidate with experience in the design of roadway schematics, final design, geometry, horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, intersections, ramps, traffic control plans, and traffic engineering.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design of roadway schematics, final design (PS&E), horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, intersections, ramps, traffic control plans, and traffic engineering, following DOT’s standards and specifications
  • Preparation, modification, and submission of schematic drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
  • Prepare, modify and submit engineering and construction designs, plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Perform Drainage analysis for highways facilities
  • Good understanding of road lighting, electrical, Intelligent Transportation System (“ITS”) /tolling civil works and electrical, signalization, and related mechanical work.
  • Calculate plan quantities, costs of materials, and estimates.
  • Conduct technical reviews of reports.
  • Conduct field visits
  • Implement the QA/QC company’s procedures in the Transportation Department
  • Maintain and improve Client’s relationship
  • Actively support marketing and business development efforts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Civil Engineering or related field, MSCE is a plus
  • Minimum 6 – 15 years of experience in Civil/Roadway engineering
  • TXDOT/GDOT/VDOT or similar DOTs experience

REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION, OR LICENSURE

  • Register PE in the State of Texas or availability to have it in two (2) months

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must be proficient in MicroStation V8i and Geo Pak – Open Roads knowledge a plus
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Bridge/Transportation/Roadway engineering plan production
  • Ability to manage computer file systems, understand file interrelationships, and customize data within the files
  • Ability to identify specific information from substantial amounts of related data and written information such as legal descriptions, reports, survey notes, manuals, standard drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to read and understand the terminology and symbols used in survey notes, plans, shop drawings, and aerial photographs/maps to interpret data/information for use in designing construction plans and engineering exhibits
  • Ability to accurately transfer information in numerical, written, sketched, or electronic format from sources such as legal descriptions, survey data, aerial photographs, and computer files to final plans and engineering exhibits
  • Ability to participate and work effectively in working relationships with teammates, clients, and sub-consultants
  • Strong work ethic with a desire to work in a production environment

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are actively seeking CAD/Microstation Sr. Technicians/Designers, for full and part time positions, proficient in Bentley Microstation V8i®.

JOB RESPONSABILITIES

  • Prepare 3D Models
  • Convert Microstation drawings to AutoCAD and manipulating layers
  • Create baseline drawings of existing client facilities overlaid on proposed civil design files
  • Interpret client facility maps and placing facilities in MicroStation drawings
  • Interpret client reports regarding rights of way, easements and environmental site investigations and placing the required information into a baseline drawing
  • Modify drawings as directed by engineer or design coordinator

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • An Associate or Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Engineering, Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent
  • Over five years of experience on multidisciplinary DOT projects including Bridge, Drainage, TCP and Roadway.
